How do I choose the right Critical Illness Cover?

Get Adobe Flash player

Critical illness policies are not all the same; they can vary hugely. All critical illness policies must cover cancer, coronary artery bypass, heart attack, kidney failure, major organ transplant, multiple sclerosis and stroke in order to be called a critical illness policy. Some policies just offer these seven conditions, whilst others can offer as many as forty conditions. The definitions between policies will also vary greatly. For example some insurers will pay out if you lose a limb, whereas others will only pay a claim if you lose two limbs.

It can be very difficult to choose the best cover, and many people make the mistake of simply buying the cheapest cover they find and then discover that they are not able to make a claim.

We only use insurers that cover at least thirty conditions, and can also recommend an insurer that offers a similar type of policy to critical illness cover that can cover well over 100 conditions. Our advisers are here to help you to find the best value and most appropriate cover for your circumstances.
