Reporting to: Team Leader
Employment: Permanent

Main purpose

To secure the sale of a range of regulated life insurance products and service by:

  • Providing best practice advice at all times.
  • Maintaining a very high level of customer service and continuous professional development.
  • Providing an on-line life insurance quotation and advice service to inbound callers.
  • Following up calls and e-mails and offering high quality customer service and competitive life insurance quotations, products and services.
  • Providing LifeSearch with accurate information by inputting quality data to the database.
  • Ensuring excellent standards of professionalism at all times.
  • Contributing to and involvement in the growth of LifeSearch.

Key responsibilities

Inbound calls

  • Provide an on-line life insurance quotation service for customers generated from marketing campaigns.
  • Use sales skills to achieve high conversion rates, e.g. maximise each lead and opportunity.
  • Obtain relevant information from client and establish client’s needs.
  • Enter all details on to the database.
  • Generate varied and competitive life insurance quotes to offer to client using on-line insurance database.

Outbound calls

  • Make follow up calls to assist and encourage customers with their decision making.
  • Use sales skills to overcome objections and considerations.
  • Update database.


  • Input and maintain database with accurate, high quality information in order to assist the team and company, to service new business transactions, maximise success of future marketing initiatives and maintain a very high quality of on-going service to existing clients.
  • Supply comprehensive and accurate notes before any customer transaction is closed off.


  • To work closely within the teams to ensure seamless cover and efficiency to clients.
  • To ensure a successful stream of referrals is maintained throughout all divisions of the Group, e.g. Baigrie Davies, LifeSearch Financial and LifeSearch.


  • Undertake regular coaching and participate in any training identified by you or your manager.
  • Respond to and provide feedback at all times.
  • At all times to continue to lead by example by achieving and exceeding target.

These are the main elements of the job. However, from time to time you will be expected to undertake tasks outside of this job description and to use your initiative to develop the role.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Attitude

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to ‘A’ level standard.
  • CF1 and CF3 qualified.
  • At least 18 months experience within Financial Services.
  • Financial services industry experience & product knowledge.
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Sales experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Good keyboard skills in terms of accuracy and speed.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of the financial services / underwriting market. Numerate and literate.

Personal qualities

  • Good team worker.
  • Self motivated, remains calm under pressure.
  • Possesses high standards and is flexible.
  • Must be interested in building and contributing to the growth of a new business.
  • Innovative ideas.
  • Able to respond to and give both positive and constructive feedback.
