High risk occupations

People who have ‘high risk occupations’ are considered a greater life assurance risk and are often subject to some exclusions and higher premiums. What’s more, the definitions can differ from one life assurance provider to another.

The most common areas of concern are: Working at heights, Oil and gas industry (particularly working offshore), Armed Forces, Pilots, Fishermen.

Working at heights

  • What is the average height you work at?
  • What is the amount of time you spend working at heights?

Oil and Gas Industry (particularly working offshore)

  • What is your exact job title?
  • Where do you work? (North Sea, Middle East for example)

Armed Forces

  • What are your exact duties?
  • Do you work under orders. If so, geographically where?
